5th may

Today I continued the rest of my walk animation, after I had blocked out the walk I had to go into the side view where it was easier to move his legs in a walking motion, starting with his feet already in a walk position (apart for the first step), then going into his knee raising and moving forwards to then his knee coming back down and then repeated the action for his other leg. once all the frames for the walk was done I could copy and paste them in to the other frames to save time. Now its all done I need to refine the movement so when he steps off he steps off with his toes which involves me altering the number on the toe roll options and when he brings his foot back down he plants his foot with his heel. Next week I need to do the jump animation which is the standard bend knees and swing arms to jump.

The jump consists of a bend in the charaters knees and lowering his body and his arms swing back, then his arms swing forwards and he stretches his legs to get off the floor and then lands back on the ground and into a standing position. Next I have to refine it so I bend his toes as he goes to take off and bend them before he lands this will also need to have the toe roll option tweaked.

Idle animation consists of my character raising his head to look up then look left then right as if he is asleep on the spot and has just woken up nothing needs to be refined for this section

7th april

today i have nearly finished my gun animation, it started with me making a pick up animation which consisted of it lay on its left hand side and then me rotating up to a held position. then i had a look at some videos of glock kick backs and saw that some tilted up and back and some slid back. so i took a bit of both which is the glock kicking back and sliding at the same time. then my idol animation is the gun tilting left and right for a couple of seconds then finally my alt fire which is on the side and is a quicker version of the normal shot animation. i need to tweek some of my animation for my gun so its absolutly complete.

Also today i have my character animation started on his walk cycle which im just blocking out into parts.

10th march

today i have started to make my set of weapon animations. first i created the bones for my gun in which i have to use them to animate them, (it consists of 4 joints and 2 bone). so my first animation is the equip which is lay on the ground to a held then the gun fires, it jumps back slides down a bit and then back to normal. i also watched a video which showed me how to set up the folders so i can import my rigged gun and also a video on how to set it up in udk.



as you can see in the pic to the left is some bones attached to the gun allowing me to animate the joints instead of the model. the joint to the left is for the main body .

next week i want to continue my animation which is the last gun shot, then the idol animation and then the alt fire which is a side ways shot and final the put down animation.
